Hi, I'm Rachel, and I'm a girl looking for the extraordinary in the everyday.
I have to admit: my life is pretty great. Not the "my life is better than yours" great, but the sort of great that gets overlooked sometimes because it appears so "normal." It's great because I enjoy freedom in Jesus Christ. It's great because I have lots of people to love, and I enjoy the love of many in return. It's great because I get to do what I love everyday.
It's great because it's a gift, and it's mine.
I don't always feel like it's so great, though. In fact, more often than not, I feel like my life is so ordinary it verges on the boring, mundane side of things. And sometimes, I feel like I'm on the outside looking in at the world through a mirror, the kind of mirror that takes reality and distorts it, thus making everything I see seem surreal. But I'm learning to look beyond those carnival mirrors to find - and believe - truth.
